In collaboration with Jakob Schillinger.
Fixr is a collection of moments that have been submitted to the website fixr.org between July 2005 and March 2006. It claims to be a free service that "helps you to close the gaps in the digital record of your life". The website is part of a project on the construction of identity and Flickr. An online form, it asks users to "submit a detailed description of the moment" they "missed", i.e. did not take a picture of.
Initially meant as a statement to incite awareness about of the use of photography in narrating one’s identity, Fixr received astonishing feedback. Of almost 900 requests submitted, many were beautiful, funny, poetic, thoughtful or revealing–almost all of them indicated strong commitment. A few we have replaced with pictures taken after the descriptions.
